As a responsive grantmaker, The Rose Hills Foundation supports qualified tax-exempt charitable organizations for the benefit of the people of Southern California with a current emphasis on organizations based in and serving Los Angeles County.

The Foundation looks for the following when reviewing applications:
A history of achievement, good management, and a stable financial condition
Organizations that allocate resources effectively
Organizations with a diverse range of funding sources and active fundraising activities
Programs that are supported by other Southern California-based funders
Programs consistent with the Foundation’s identified areas of interest
Programs which will benefit people of Southern California, with a focus in Los Angeles County
Organizations providing direct service
Organizations whose impact can be described clearly and tracked with measurable outcomes
Organizations where 100% of the Board of Directors make a financial contribution to and/or fulfill their give-or-get requirements each year
